the second interview is done and will be uploaded later today. the damn thing took weeks to edit. and i was unable to finish all the final filming because my camera was stolen in new york 10 days ago. ive also been way too busy to finish.
but, anyway its done.
and the next interview will take place in nanjing, china!

the second interview is set for this saturday. im quite excited. ive already started some preliminary shooting this evening.

first interview

the first 'looking for love' interview is complete. it was a long day and i feel physically and mentally drained. im excited about editing and posting this thing, but it will have to wait until i have some time to reflect a little and sleep a lot.
overall im very pleased with how the shoot went. dave was great.
the next interview is set for next week, with others lined up in august.
its all coming together, mmmmotherfuckers.

This time around the video shoot with The New Collisions went swimmingly. Robert Officer from seriouslunch.com directed with help from some other old friends.
I spent most of the day amusing myself while the real work went on. And then towards the end of the first day of shooting (they're shooting more footage as I write this) came my time to shine.
Realistically, I will probably be in the final cut of the video for about five seconds. I play the bartender. It was an interesting and revealing experience, which I think will offer some ideas and inspiration for future 'looking for love' interviews.
Speaking of which, the filming of the first interview will be completed on Tuesday or Wednesday. Hopefully it will be edited and pieced together and posted to youtube within a week.

oh, the music video shoot with 'the new collisions'...

i don't want to get into right now, or ever. but what i can report with what remains of my optimism and interest in the living is, that another music video shoot with 'tnc' is scheduled for this weekend. this time a much better crew has been assembled (i.e. people not averse to having fun). some of them old friends.

and it was video magic!

first interview

the first 'looking for love' video interview is set for this week. there were of course, a few obligatory disruptions and delays, as with anything. but its all coming together now. the initial plan was to have the first interview done over the weekend, so we are a little behind schedule, but i think we can make it up this week. yes, this week feels good.

this week 'looking for love' will be hooking up with the hottest goddamn band in boston, 'the new collisions'. the band is shooting a music video somewhere in the boston/cambridge area and they have offered me a supporting role. i couldnt be more motherfucking excited.

tonight we scouted locations in e. hartford, by the train tracks with a great view. one dude got all fucked up. but after the initial upsidedownness, he comported himself with grace and aplomb. we were all thankful to have him on the team. as for me, well, i was dealing with a number of inopportune phone calls and couldnt be much help.

once in oxford circus i told fran that making a film is like going to war: one had to be totally on board or expect enormous casualties. one also had to be willing to cause a bit of damage, inflict some pain. she agreed in principle, but it was very late, and by then we had walked all the way to kings cross by the big banner of shakespeare.

he stands silent in the soft blue moonlight. all around they are destroying his church. his brother is scalped and eaten. the curse could not be burned away with fire. nor could it be drowned in the sea. kicked stoned and starved.
